The Nebbiolo grape variety – typical of Piedmont – is the first to bud in our region, but it is also the last to be harvested. It therefore has the longest growing season, which allows the vine to absorb more nutrients and sunlight to concentrate in the grapes. However, this also exposes it to greater risks, such as spring frosts, hail or autumn cold. This is why it it is so precious and forms the basis of the most important wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero, but also Nebbiolo Langhe, depending on where it is grown, how it has been vinified and how long it has been aged or refined.
We are all ready to accompany the plants through the season in the spirit of balance and the quality that will result from it!

This year’s “Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali” cycle race, featuring cyclists from all over the world, during the Barolo–Barbaresco stage passed along the western slope of the La Morra hill – where Santa “Caterina Langhe Country House” is located. 

This cyclist race traverses four Italian regions, passing through areas of outstanding natural beauty and some of the country’s most important wine-growing regions, where world-renowned wines are produced. The race comprises five stages: from the picturesque Barbaresco–Barolo route, in the heart of the Langhe, to the Lodi–Massalengo circuit in the Lombardy plains. It continues with the Erbusco–Iseo stage, through the hills of Franciacorta, and the Ponte di Piave–Valdobbiadene stage, through the Prosecco region. The grand finale is the Cormons–Gemona del Friuli stage, which takes the peloton through the landscapes and traditions of Friuli Venezia Giulia. A sporting journey that combines cycling and the local area.

This year, the 31st edition of the Burattinarte International Puppet Theatre Festival is coming to Santa Caterina Langhe with a special show. On 29 August 2025, the Orlando della Morte theatre company will be performing La Mosca (The Fly) at our venue, a show aimed at both children and adults who are still curious. Every day at around 5pm, winegrower Paola Oberto offers guided tastings of her wines grown around the Santa Caterina Langhe estate. In particular, these include an exceptional Langhe Favorita, a young and fruity Langhe Nebbiolo, a robust yet velvety Barbera Superiore, a Rosso Langhe, a special and very balanced blend, and a tasty but elegant Barolo from the municipality of La Morra.
